Force Volleyball Club FAQs
Why Force Volleyball Club?
Force has long been one of the smaller area clubs with a strong presence scattered throughout. We will continue to strive to make the improvements and decisions to make sure our logo is something to be proud to have on your back. With our strong focus on organization and communication, we plan to build one of the strongest clubs from top to bottom. We have always had the best on court facility in Cleveland, and now we are ready to match that tangible product with a character and mindset that will continue to grow both on and off and the court.
What Types Of Teams Do You Offer?
FVC offers four divisions/levels of teams: National, Elite, American and Regional.
National - Highest level of competition & commitment. These teams are designed for athletes who are committed to developing their skills, competing at the highest levels and often pursuing college volleyball opportunities. These teams will compete at higher level tournaments & National Qualifiers. Training 4-5 times per week.
Elite - The Elite division is designed for athletes who demonstrate exceptional skill, athleticism & strong commitment to the sport. These teams will receive higher level training and compete at higher level tournaments but will not compete for a National Bid. Training 3-4 times per week.
American - The American division provides a balance between strong competitive play and a manageable level of commitment. Teams in this division will participate in high-level tournaments within the local area, providing players with a challenging yet achievable competitive experience. Training 3 times per week.
Regional - Our regional teams play a local based tournament schedule. We recommend this level of play for players who are multi sport athletes & can’t commit to a more strenuous training schedule. Regional teams train 3 days weekly.
How Many Tournaments Do Teams Play In?
National Teams - 7-9 High Level Tournaments - These are mostly 2-3 Day Tourneys
Elite Teams - 6-7 High Level Tournaments - Majority are 2 Day Tourneys
American Teams - 9 Competitive Local Tournaments - Most are one day local with a couple 2 day
Regional Teams - 8 Competitive Local One Day Tournaments
How Long Does The Club Season Last?
Depending on the team level, practices can begin mid November through December.
Tournaments run from January through the end of May (Memorial Day Weekend) for the regular season.
USAV National Championships typically take place at the end of June through early July. However, these tournaments require earning a bid through a qualifying event.
Do I Need An OVR Membership Before Tryouts?
Yes, players need to purchase a tryout membership through the OVR before attending tryouts. If they make a team, they will upgrade to a full membership.
*If you played club in the 2024-25 season, you do not need to purchase a new membership for JULY tryouts. (14s-18s) Your membership is good through August.
How Are Teams Formed?
Players are evaluated during tryouts based on skill, athletic ability, and coachability. Teams are then formed based on the positional needs of the club. See our Tryout page for more details.
What If I Don’t Make A Team?
FVC provides alternative training programs, such as the Juniors Academy, Fall Elite Training Teams, and Private Lessons, for players who don't make a team to develop their skills.

Juniors Academy & Learn To Volley FAQs
What Is The Difference Between The Juniors Academy & Learn To Volley/Volley Up?
Learn to Volley is for kids in Kindergarten through 3rd grade who have no prior volleyball experience.
Volley Up is for kids in Kindergarten through 3rd grade who have some volleyball experience.
The Juniors Academy is designed for children in 3rd through 8th grade who are either new to volleyball or possess some existing knowledge and wish to further develop their abilities to advance in the sport.
All 3 of these programs focus on foundational skills, basic volleyball knowledge, and fostering a love for the game in a supportive and encouraging environment.
What is The Juniors Play Day?
At the end of each session, all Juniors Academy players are invited to participate in our Play Day. An email will be sent out a few weeks prior to the Play Day date to RSVP.
All participants will be placed on team with other players in their same grade/skill level. Coaches will have players warm up with a series of drills & then we will get into game play & scrimmaging. This is a fun way to wrap up the session & to see how far our players have come!
What Happens If A Practice Is Canceled?
If a practice is canceled due to weather, facility issues or unforeseen circumstances, we will notify all participants as soon as possible via email & Playmetrics.
Make-Up Policy - We will make every effort to reschedule a canceled practice. If rescheduling is not possible, FVC may, at its sole discretion, offer a credit towards a future FVC program.
What Is The Refund Policy?
Full Refund - Cancellations made before the session start date may be eligible to receive a full refund.
No Refunds - No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after the session start date or for missed practices once the clinic has started.
Medical Exceptions - If a participant cannot attend due to a medical condition, FVC may, at it's sole discretion, offer a partial refund or credit for a future clinic.
By completing the program registration process, you confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Policy.
For refund requests, please contact Jessica@ForceVolleyballClub.com with your registration details.
What If My Child Has To Miss A Practice?
Players may attend a session at a different Juniors Academy location to make up for a missed practice. Participants in the Learn to Volley or Volley Up programs can attend the other practice day during the week.
Please notify us in advance if an absence is expected.
How Can I Stay Updated On Clinic Announcements?
We will provide updates via email & through the messaging system on Playmetrics.
How Many Participants Are In Each Session?
To ensure quality instruction, we keep group sizes to about 10-12 players per coach.
What Skills Will Be Covered?
Players will learn the fundamentals of serving, passing, setting, and hitting, while also improving communication and motor skills.
Will My Child Need Any Special Equipment/Clothing?
Players should wear comfortable athletic attire, such as shorts or leggings and a t-shirt. While knee pads are not required, they are strongly recommended, especially for Juniors Academy participants.
Players do not need to bring their own volleyballs, as they will be provided.
What If There Is A Waitlist For Program?
If a program displays “Join Waiting List”, that means we are currently sold out for the age group you’re interested in registering for, but a spot may open up.
Because the waiting list is first come, first serve, we highly recommend that you complete the waiting list registration. There is no obligation and you will not pay for the registration at that time. If a spot opens up, you will be contacted and full payment will be expected to secure your spot.
